The Anomine were a highly advanced race that established massive, impervious force fields around the Dyson Pair in order to contain the Prime civilizations. They used a planetary FTL drive capable of moving Saturn-sized planets to transport modified Dark Fortress spheres (massive, incredibly advanced defense platforms intended to guard the periphery of the Void in the hopes of preventing an expansion of the boundary) to the borders of each star system after they were acquired from the Raiel.
The Anomine had at some point a relatively sizeable amount of territory and planets under their control, but that territory contracted to just their home system as the majority of the Anomine went post-physical. Most Anomine that didn't ascend regressed to an agrarian, luddite-analogue culture (similar to Human Amish or Mennonite communities), believing machines and technology separate people from nature and life's fulfilment. However, the majority of Anomine retained much of the knowledge of past generations, being fully aware of the history of their people and post-physical existence. A small contingent of Anomine remained technologically sophisticated and served as guardians of their home system's border, using advanced, heavily armed starships.
Eventually the entirety of the Anomine race transcended in the events of the Evolutionary Void, after Marius, an agent of the Human Accelerator faction, intentionally triggered the Anomine star to go nova.
In their biological forms, the Anomine are bipedal insect-like creatures, with birdlike reverse-jointed legs and multiple limbs ending in pincers. They change color throughout their lifetime, beginning as copper-hued juveniles and turning green and eventually purple as they age.
